WRGW WILL BEAM TO DORMS!
November 24th, 1964:
With a delay in airing programing until December, WRGW is ready to go on the air from 12 noon to midnight, 5 days a week. The addition will be that the station will be broadcasting to all 7 University dorms, the Student Union and Quigley's, as well as any radio with an AM transistor at 680 kc.
Faculty member Dr. Lubin P. Leggette and Charles Jekofsky, student station manager, hope that the programming that is "entirely campus oriented and designed to keep the student constantly informed about University events and news" will be a success. The music side of WRGW will feature "middle-of-the-road" music to please a wide audience. The programming also features a 15 minute news and sports update at 12 noon and a 7-8 pm broadcast of news and sports.
With special events, an open mike program every Monday night for students and professors and free advertising of student groups events, WRGW hopes to continue their success.
