WGW BROADCASTS GW - DUKE BASKETBALL GAME IN THE STUDENT CLUB!!

March 5th, 1948: The Radio Workshop in conjunction with the student radio station, WWGW, exclusively broadcasted the GW basketball game vs. Duke*.  This monumental broadcast was the first basketball broadcast of any kind and GW and was delivered to a captive audience of 200 students in the Student Club.  Engineering director Chuck Burner oversaw the technical work involved in installing the equipment.

The GW-Duke broadcast kicked-off the new WGW studio in Lisner Studio C in Lisner Auditorium.  President of the Radio Workshop, Madeline Smith announced daily broadcasts to the Student Club will take place from 12:10 to 12:55pm.
