PRODUCTION MEETINGS ARE ON MONDAYS AT 6:30!

The production department, despite its small size, had a record setting semester in the fall, creating 10 new permanent WRGW spots in just a 4 month period!

Director's Picks of the Week:

TV: Writer's strike is killing all the good shows, though this is a great opportunity to catch up on old reruns.  Plus, I can do more work now, because I don't have to worry about missing anything.
Movies: American Gangster.  See it now.  Finally, a movie that is realistic, dark, and yet somehow hopeful.  I'm not an obsessor who goes to movies to see specific actors, but Denzel and Russell Crowe were simply perfect, and their long anticipated one on one at the end does not disappoint.  4 stars from me.  Take that for what it's worth.
Band: DVDA. Email me if you want to know what it stands for: wrgwproductiondirector@gmail.comI can't believe no one has emailed me to find out, so I'm going to leave it up until I get an email!
Album: Return of the King: the Complete Recordings.  Shut up!  I'm not a nerd.  This cd package has all 4 + hours of music from the movie in order!  Over 4 hours of stuff!  It's simply one of the best movie scores ever, rivaling anything by John Williams.  People have been waited 4 years for this to come out.  Why weren't you?

Production Director Adam

No, it's not just me.  Imagine if that idiot ran the whole thing himself.  While it would be a most handsome production department, it would not be the best quality production team.

So I'm the new guy.  Kat's going to Japan or whatever, so if you liked her...well...go to Japan.

Anyway, about me:  I am a Junior in the School of Media and Public Affairs, majoring in journalism and mass communcation.  I like watching  movies and I love making them; I especially enjoy the editing process, which is why I joined the production department.  My other passion is sports, and I'm from Philly so I'm a little nuts.  You will see me active in WRGW's sports department and sometimes sitting courtside at GW basketball games with a headset giving the play-by-play!

Last words from our last production director, Kat.

"You broke what now?"

Previous Production Director Kat

Words of Wisdom from Kat: Think that any form of media can run smoothly without a producer?  Think again!  By being a member of the production department you are making a great contribution to our station as a whole.  In fact, the station wouldn't be able to function without YOU.

Feel free to contact either of us for more information on how you can become involved with the production department.  We are always looking for new producers.

Producers operate the mixing board and produce DJ's shows.  The GW Production Staff is responsible for virtually everything that is not on live feed.  We do much of our work in a room we call pre-prod.  Here you will be able to express your creative abilities by producing PSAs (Public Service Announcements), Station IDs, and show/event promotional spots.  Other production responsibilities include cueing CDs, logging songs, and creating overnight loops.  By helping out with these tasks, you get to create works that are played by our DJs every day.

Why not? We intend to reward our most hardworking production members.  Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Instead, it keeps our station running smoothly. That's why you're so important to us.
