Surf Curse is kicking off another show, this time at Songbyrd in Washington D.C. on Sep. 10. This indie surf rock band, formed in 2012, now has over 8.7 million Spotify listeners and songs nearing billions of streams. Finding lots of fame on TikTok, their song “Freaks” has over 400,000 videos adorning it.
The band’s live shows are known for being rambunctious and full of life. Performing at Coachella in Wizard of Oz-themed attire and strutting a 2022 Las Vegas stage in Elvis iterations, fans know that their D.C. show will be one for the books. Lead singer Nicholas Foster Rattigan is also releases music under the stage name Current Joys, another famous name in the music industry. His unique sound mixing alternative, lo-fi and indie rock makes their music like nothing you’ve ever heard before. Performing in music festivals alongside legends like Paramore and Blink-182, Surf Curse is not a band to miss.
