Who are we?

A team of smart and passionate community builders, the WRGW Alumni department is dedicated to creating close knit relationships between our current and past WRGW members.  As always, we have some exciting opportunities for you all to support and represent WRGW as we ring in the new year!

What are we doing?

Look to our photo archive (under 2024-2025 and then Alumni Weekend ’25) for pictures from all of our events, especially those that will be uploaded later from our photographers at the events! Also, a quick reminder to add your photos from your WRGW days–we’re so excited to keep building this history of the station.

THANK YOU to all of our alumni who were able to make it out for Alumni Weekend last month! Here’s a recap and some pictures of our events:

Friday, 2/21: American Studies Panel

On Friday, we gathered in the SEH to hear from panelists Michael Simon and Marc Eisenberg about their time at WRGW and how it shaped their careers that followed. The American Studies Department also created a presentation detailing WRGW’s history that you can look through here. If you couldn’t make it to DC this year, we have a recording of the panel discussion here!

Post-Panel Social Hour

Following the American Studies panel, we walked over to Proper 21 on K St. Alumni and current students had a chance to mingle, chat, and reflect on their time with radio!

Saturday, 2/22: Jazz Brunch

On Saturday, we hosted our Jazz Brunch in the station. Breakfast was Call Your Mother bagels and music was provided by the GW Jazz Orchestra.

Alumni Broadcast

Throughout the day on Saturday, we featured shows from our alumni, ranging from shows co-hosted by current students and alumni to alumni reviving shows from when they were on the air as students. If you didn’t get a chance to catch it live, never fear! Click on THIS link to listen to the recordings from the shows of the weekend.

GW Men’s Basketball Game

GW Men’s basketball pulled out a win over UMass for our alumni weekend! Alumni sports broadcasters Kyle Brosnan, Greg Shapiro, & Dave Earl hosted the broadcast for the evening.

Tiny Dorm Concert

Our last event of the day was our Tiny Dorm Concert in the studio as part of our broadcast. We had a packed house for our three performers, GW student bands Pack Light and Boys Kisser, and our alumni performer Gibby, member of GW bands Home Remedies and Dundrum.
