San Francisco, CA-based metal band Deafheaven will be coming to D.C. this weekend for back to back sold out shows. The band—George (vocals), Kerry (guitar), Daniel (drums), Shiv (guitar), and Chris (bass) —is hot off of their tenth anniversary rerelease of their 2013 album, Sunbather, which has been described as more refined with an “even greater layer of oomph to the bass and drums.”
The band has been self-producing their music for since 2010, combining elements of black metal, shoegaze, post-rock and arena rock. This latest release is a way to celebrate this milestone after the band had planned a ten-year anniversary tour in 2020 that had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
