CONCERT PREVIEW: Kim Gordon @ Black Cat, 3/22

By Elijah Bratter

Legendary musician, visual artist, and noise-rock icon, Kim Gordon is gracing the stage of D.C.’s iconic Black Cat on March 22 in celebration of her second solo album. Following up her first solo LP, No Home Record, Gordon is releasing her second effort, The Collective and embarking on a limited six-show tour to celebrate. The former vocalist, bassist, guitarist and avant-garde darling of Sonic Youth, responsible for college radio hits like “Kool Thing,” “Bull in the Heather” and “Teenage Riot,” has been renowned for her musical talents, her experimental approach to her craft and, of course, her effortlessly cool fashion sense. Gordon is inarguably one of the most influential musicians in the industry and continues to push the boundaries of what noise means in music.
