MisterWives, an indie pop band based in New York City, will be playing for one night only at the Anthem on Tuesday, Sep. 12, at 7:30 pm. To celebrate their first independently released album, fourth album overall, the band will be embarking on a 24-city US tour starting on Sep. 8 and going hard until its conclusion on Oct. 15.
The band, consisting of Mandy Lee, Etienne Bowler, William Hehir, Marc Campbell and Mike Murphy was initially formed as an 80s cover band for Lee’s birthday. Their most recent album, Nosebleeds, represents a departure from their previous sound, somewhat “pulling from their roots” with a focus on intentional lyricism.
