Indie pop artist Sarah Kinsley will be playing at Union Stage this October 6th. Sarah Kinsley is best known for her song “The King”, which went viral on TikTok in 2021. Since then, she’s released three EPs and this September she released her debut album, Escaper.
Kinsley says she is fascinated by the idea of creating imaginary worlds and alternate realities in order to “escape” with the help of instrumentally heavy music. She can often be found experimenting with the sound of unique instruments, and applying them to her songs on her TikTok page (@sarahkinsleyd). On her new album, she experiments with an ondes Martenot, an early electronic musical instrument that is said to produce “musical waves”.
