Week 10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

By Nan Jiang

The playoff race is heating up – both in the NFL and your league. Here are some players to help you keep yourself contending in next week’s bye weeks.

Quarterback

Taylor Heinicke (ATL, 4.7%)

Yes, God does care about the Falcons. Desmond Ridder, the worst QB in the NFL, has finally been benched. Heinicke is what he is at this point in his career, but surrounding him is one of the most talented offenses in the NFL. I would expect him to put up big numbers just because the Falcons are amazing, and I would also expect a huge boost to Falcons position players.

Tommy DeVito (NYG, 0%)

Tommy Devito is likely the starter for the G-Men going into week 10, and that might be a lateral move for the team, who just lost Daniel Jones for the season. In comparison to Jones, however, DeVito’s college tape shows him as a pretty reliable passer, something the team has desperately lacked this year. So although he doesn’t have the huge play potential that Jones has, he is an interesting pickup.

Running back

Tyler Allgeier (ATL, 48%)

Where in the world is Bijan Robinson? As we find out, it seems like Allgeier is filling in again for the Falcons. Last year’s rookie phenom was relegated to RB2 after the team picked Robinson in the first round, but since Robinson has been mysteriously written out of the game plan, Allgeier is finding a nice place again in the Falcons offense.

Wide receiver

JuJu Smith-Schuster (NE, 29.9%)

To put it lightly, the entire New England receiver room has been trash. With the loss of Kendrick Bourne, they were so close to being completely fantasy irrelevant, but it seems as if with injuries piling on for the team, Bill Belichick is looking towards his new signing for some much needed offense. JuJu hasn’t been inspirational all year, but maybe this increased usage is a sign of things to come.

Jahan Dotson (WAS, 63.7%)

Dotson has had a touchdown in the last two games he was in, and the Commanders and Sam Howell seem to be solid in the passing game. For the last 3 games, he has seen a total of 26 targets, and just based off of volume alone, Dotson should be a solid grab if he is still on waivers in your league.

Tight end

Taysom Hill (NO, 39.7%)

Yup, he’s back. I shouldn’t have to tell you again why you should roster Hill, but to add to the list, he legitimately threw a TD last week. And caught one. In the same week. Kamara owners hate him, but for good cause, as he is the Saints red zone offense right now. They have been atrocious to start the year in the red zone, and they have found success with Taysom in creative ways. Keep looking for touchdowns with him.
