Week 14 Fantasy Football Pickups

By Nan Jiang

Hopefully you’re still in the hunt in your league. Look out for these players on the wire this week.

Quarterback

Jameis Winston (NO, 0.2%)

Derek Carr took a pretty nasty hit last week, and now he’s in the concussion protocol. He’s questionable as of right now, but Jameis is well worth the stash if you are in need of a QB. Carr has led the Saints offense to misery this season, and Jameis might just be the piece the team needs to succeed. He had immediate impact the last time he was subbed in, and this might be another chance for him to shine.

Jordan Love (GB, 60.6%)

Jordan Love has been cooking these few weeks. He’s flown under the radar this season because the Packers have been terrible, but after flaming the Chiefs last week, he’s definitely in the spotlight now. He plays the New York Giants next week, and the Giants are getting dumped on by every team this season, so look out for Love to have another huge game.

Running back

Ezekiel Elliott (NE, 34%)

Rhamondre Stevenson went down last week, and Elliott got a lot more extra chances in the offense because of it. The lack of a QB in New England definitely benefits a workhorse back like Elliott, who has been elite his entire career in Dallas. It will be exciting to see him finally get some touches.

Tyjae Spears (TEN, 32%)

Derrick Henry went down last week, and Tyjae got 20 touches in his absence. Besides, let’s all face it. Henry’s time is over in Tennessee, and we should be on trade watch for him at this point. Tennessee would be wise to gauge what they have in Spears in the remnants of this season as they have no shot of making the playoffs anyway.

Wide receiver

Parker Washington (JAX, 0%)

In the absence of Christian Kirk, Parker Washington stepped up big time against the Bengals last week. Despite not having a catch this entire season, Washington racked up six receptions for 61 yards and a score. Even though Trevor Lawrence’s season is in jeopardy, Washington can be a nice stash piece for managers short on WR.

Jonathan Mingo (CAR, 12.1%)

The Panthers are officially eliminated from the playoffs, and have decided it’s time to start using their rookies. Under new coaching, Mingo put up career highs in both targets and receptions. By all means, this offense is still not good, but it is no longer feeding an out-of-his prime Adam Thielen the ball a million times a game, and Mingo can finally get some touches.

Tight end

Brevin Jordan (HOU, 2.4%)

With the loss of Tank Dell, there should be a redistribution of targets amongst the Texans offense in the upcoming weeks. Dalton Schultz has been playing ahead of Jordan all season, and with Schultz sidelined, the young Jordan should see an increase in usage in upcoming weeks.
