Thirty-One years of decompression sickness: A review of Radiohead’s “The Bends”

Today marks thirty-one years of decompression sickness. The album's title isn't metaphorical decoration; it's diagnostic. Decompression sickness, the bends, happens when you ascend too quickly from depth, when dissolved gases in your blood expand faster than your body can process them. Nitrogen bubbles form in joints and tissues, in the brain, in the heart. The pain is your body rejecting the transition, refusing the violence of moving between pressures too fast. This is what The Bends understands about existing in 1995, or 2026, or any moment when the gap between what you're supposed to feel and what you actually feel becomes physiologically untenable.

CONCERT REVIEW: Big Thief @ The Anthem, 10/24

Standing on stage and gazing at the packed venue halfway through the set, Adrienne Lenker told us that she was sending us “all the love in her heart,” and that she “could feel all the love in the room.” I honestly believe her. Not one person in the crowd around me wasn’t grinning and staring at the stage with complete adoration in their eyes, myself included.

“You want like our full names?” Nic, the lead singer asked me as if he had a wrap sheet that couldn't be imagined in this lifetime. This was the beginning of my five minute interview with Meyru in the Pie Shop greenroom on September 23.

CONCERT REVIEW: Alex G @ The Anthem, 10/17

Seeing Alex G headline for the first time was simply watching 4 guys jam out on stage- and it was absolutely awesome.  My friend and I arrived early, wanting a spot closer to the stage while also leaving time for me to speak to and take pictures of fans in the line. Outside the venue, the people I met were pleasant and fun to talk to, most having listened to him for a long time and being able to name their favorite tracks from the new album. Whenever I asked to take a picture of them, the answer was always a quick “Yes!” and generally some small talk while my polaroid camera printed the photo. Excitement flowed through the long line, which stretched much further than I expected it to before we ended up settling into a spot.

Bloggers Review: Fries on campus

Blog feels that we have a moral obligation to use our powers of taste-making and superior judgement to aid the uneducated in seeking out the best food on campus. Of particular interest to us are fries, the ultimate side, the perfect snack, the primordial sauce vessel.

The Hottest topic of 2005: Warped Tour and the evolution of the emo scene

June 13th and 14th of this summer brought Warped Tour 2025 to the RFK Campus Grounds.  I had frantically purchased tickets to the festival in class, discreetly refreshing Ticketmaster until the “YOU GOT ‘EM” screen lit up my computer. Having previously attended Riot Fest 2025 and Sad Summer Fest, I assumed I knew what kind of alternative-rock-extravaganza I would be walking into. For both of those festivals, I meticulously studied the schedules, which stages my favorite bands would be on, and what the most efficient route through the grounds would be in order to maximize the amount of bands my friends and I were seeing.
