San Diego-based band Thee Sacred Souls will be performing at The Black Cat on Thursday, Nov. 17. Composed of Alex Garcia, Josh Lane and Sam Sammano, the trio creates a unique, timeless sound with heavy influences from Italian library music to 60’s soul to 70’s R&B. Their first self-titled album was released earlier this year. The 12-track album takes listeners on an emotional rollercoaster as they delve into love and loss. Lead vocalist Josh Lane, artfully creates the atmosphere of loving kindness and tremendous grief. Whether it be creating the feeling of finding your true love in the song “Once You Know (Then You’ll Know)” or the endlessly dark hole that you fall into after losing someone important in “Sorrow For Tomorrow,” this album sounds just right as it masterfully blends groove with the entire range of human emotion.
