On Friday, Apr. 7, Arielle Geismar sat down with the WRGW Blog to discuss her candidacy for Student Association (SA) president. Geismar offered a look into the details of just a handful of her many policies; namely, supporting graduate students, increasing Vex hours, creating a “GDUB HUB” to centralize all GW-specific apps, addressing food insecurity, and rebuilding trust between the SA and student body.

Geismar currently serves as the Residence Hall Association (RHA) President. Geismar wants to expand housing to graduate students at GW, “I’d be working with the individuals in housing, who I already know, to explore 4+1 options.” She also plans to create career and housing resources geared toward graduate students.

When asked about her plans to establish a “GDUB HUB,” she explained that it “is not just about having a spot for apps, but also resources.” Geismar plans to incorporate “mental health resources” and “information on sexual assault prevention” into this one-stop hub for students.

Members of the WRGW Blog Editorial Board are meeting with candidates for SA president and vice president to inform students about their options on the election days (Apr. 13 and 14) and to contribute to the Editorial Board’s endorsements. You can listen to the entire interview with Geismar on Spotify.
